Patching Administrator

About the role

Coretek is looking for a motivated Patching Administrator to manage the planning, testing, and deployment of operating system and application patches across the enterprise and for external clients. The role emphasizes execution, monitoring, and documentation while providing hands‑on training from senior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end patching activities, including deployment, monitoring, validation, and reporting for OS and applications.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑patch checks, troubleshoot issues, ensure compliance, and escalate complex problems.
• Assist with emergency or out‑of‑band patching under supervision.
• Support vulnerability remediation by deploying approved patches and coordinating emergency actions.
• Track and communicate incident and request status throughout the lifecycle.
• Maintain accurate documentation such as runbooks, knowledge‑base articles, patch records, and change‑management logs.
• Assist with change management, backup monitoring, cross‑team coordination, and training of new members during regular and off‑hours operations.

Required profile

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2‑4 years of experience in IT operations, desktop support, systems administration, or NOC environment.
• Basic knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with patching concepts and system maintenance practices.
• Eagerness to learn, good written and verbal communication, and a team‑oriented attitude.
