Microsoft 365 Migration Engineer – Exchange & OneDrive

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Migration Engineer to lead enterprise‑scale migration projects for Exchange Online and OneDrive for Business. The role focuses on designing reliable automation, handling large data transfers, and ensuring seamless migration with minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute Exchange Online mailbox migrations from on‑premises or tenant‑to‑tenant environments.
• Plan and implement OneDrive for Business migrations while preserving data integrity.
• Develop advanced PowerShell automation scripts with robust error handling, logging, and retry mechanisms.
• Utilise Microsoft Graph API for bulk operations, reporting, and automation.
• Employ Quest On Demand Migration (ODM) for tenant‑to‑tenant scenarios.
• Conduct pre‑migration assessments, dependency analysis, and post‑migration validation.
• Troubleshoot migration issues and optimise performance for large‑scale data transfers.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define migration strategy, timelines, and risk mitigation.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of scripts, processes, and migration activities.
• Ensure compliance with security and governance policies throughout the migration lifecycle.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Exchange Online migration (cutover, staged, hybrid, tenant‑to‑tenant).
• OneDrive for Business migration expertise.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Graph API (MgGraph).
• Advanced PowerShell scripting (modular design, exception handling, logging, automation pipelines).
• Experience with Quest On Demand Migration (ODM).
• Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 architecture and services.
• Familiarity with Azure AD / Entra ID identity systems.
• Knowledge of SharePoint Online migration (optional but beneficial).
