About the role
We are seeking a proactive Merchant Relationship Manager to drive merchant acquisition and nurture existing partnerships within the Goa region. The role focuses on expanding the merchant portfolio, increasing transaction volumes, and cross‑selling banking and fintech products.
Key responsibilities
- Acquire new merchants for POS and QR code solutions and manage ongoing relationships.
- Own profitability and growth of the merchant portfolio, monitoring POS volume and Average Monthly Balance.
- Cross‑sell banking products such as insurance, Demat accounts, and various loan offerings.
- Collaborate with branch staff and internal teams (Operations, Risk, Product) to enhance product penetration and resolve merchant issues.
- Provide training to branch employees on merchant products and sales processes.
- Ensure compliance with KYC/AML, RBI, SEBI, AMFI, IRDA guidelines and maintain accurate online sales records.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and identify product gaps.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; MBA preferred for senior roles.
- 3–8 years of experience in relationship management, merchant acquiring, or sales account management within banking or fintech.
Required skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Good understanding of digital payments, POS systems, current accounts and wealth management products.
- Capability to build long‑lasting client relationships and work both independently and as part of a team.
