Manager – Occupational, Transport & Environment Safety

About the role

Provide support to all BASF stakeholders in India for the effective implementation of occupational safety, environment protection and transport safety initiatives. The role ensures employee safety, prevents incidents and drives continuous improvement of EHS performance across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of occupational safety, environment protection and transport safety programmes in collaboration with the EHS HUB and corporate governance.
• Monitor regulatory developments in India, conduct gap analyses and coordinate compliance actions at sites and offices.
• Coordinate incident reporting, manage injury cases, support root‑cause analysis and facilitate incident‑learning sharing.
• Conduct internal and external RCMS audits, pre‑audit assessments and spot‑checks for plants, construction sites and logistics providers.
• Deliver safety training and RCMS training to sites, suppliers, tollers and office staff.
• Support the digitalisation team in developing and rolling out EHS tools for India.
• Assess logistics service providers and ensure closure of corrective actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in occupational safety, environment protection or transport safety within an industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of Indian EHS regulations and ability to interpret and apply them.
• Experience in incident management, root‑cause analysis and audit execution.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with sites, corporate teams and external partners.

Required skills

• RCMS (Regulatory Compliance Management System) proficiency.
