About the role
We are looking for an experienced Loads Engineer to lead design load calculations for wind turbines and their mechanical systems, focusing on rotor‑nacelle assemblies and towers. You will support load‑reduction strategies, collaborate with controls teams, and contribute to certification activities.
Key responsibilities
- Perform numerical modelling of wind turbines using tools such as Flex and Bladed.
- Develop and optimise load‑reduction strategies in line with control system development.
- Collaborate with the controls team to provide load and dynamic data for controller design.
- Support type‑certification activities, including load evaluation and measurement campaigns.
- Assess new products and platforms early in the design phase, delivering load assessments for NPIs and RCAs.
- Drive simplification of system modelling, load simulation, documentation, and component checks to resolve technical challenges.
- Conduct site‑specific load assessments and power‑curve simulations to aid sales and design decisions.
Required profile
- Minimum 8 years of experience in loads engineering for wind turbines.
- Strong background in mechanical and structural analysis of rotor‑nacelle and tower components.
- Proven ability to work on certification processes and load‑reduction projects.
- Excellent collaboration skills with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
