Legal Manager – Digital Lending & NBFC Compliance

About the role

PhonePe is seeking a Legal Manager to lead compliance and contractual matters for its digital lending and NBFC operations. The role involves providing legal advice, drafting agreements, and monitoring regulatory changes to safeguard the business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on policies, contracts, and documents related to the lending business.
• Draft and review partnership, NBFC, banking, and outsourcing agreements.
• Monitor RBI regulations, digital lending guidelines, KYC norms, and outsourcing guidelines.
• Interpret and communicate the impact of new legislation and regulatory notifications to relevant functions.
• Manage internal compliance controls for NBFC and LSP operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law (Master’s degree advantageous).
• Minimum 4 years of experience in an NBFC, bank, or fintech focused on digital lending.
• Familiarity with RBI regulations, NBFC‑LSP operating models, and co‑lending arrangements.
• Proven ability to review legal and contractual documents and interface with external partners.
