Legal Counsel – SaaS & Commercial Contracts

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to lead the drafting, negotiation, and management of high‑volume SaaS and technology agreements. You will work closely with business leaders across India, the US, and the EU to ensure contracts are executed quickly, accurately, and in line with our strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate global commercial contracts, focusing on SaaS and technology agreements (≈50% of time).
• Lead live negotiations with customers, partners, and vendors, handling calls with counter‑party legal teams independently.
• Build and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and internal legal processes as the company scales (≈30% of time).
• Provide practical, jargon‑free legal guidance to cross‑functional stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
• Oversee dispute management and ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
• Support strategic initiatives such as M&A groundwork, partnership structures, and new market entry legal frameworks (≈20% of time).
• Translate legal risk into commercial language to enable faster decision‑making for leadership.

Required profile

• 3‑6 years of post‑qualification in‑house experience at an IT or SaaS company (law‑firm experience alone is insufficient).
• Proven track record negotiating SaaS and technology contracts at volume and complexity, both from the sell‑side and procurement side.
• Solid, practical knowledge of IP, data protection, and contracting across India, the US, and the EU.
• Operator mindset: has built legal processes from scratch in fast‑moving environments and takes ownership without escalating every edge case.
