Legal Counsel – International Commercial Law

About the role

We are seeking a proactive, business‑oriented Legal Counsel to join our global legal team in Pune. The role focuses on supporting EMEA business segments with commercial agreements and a variety of legal matters at both local and global levels.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and review a broad range of commercial contracts, including confidentiality agreements, terms & conditions, distributor and agency agreements, supply and purchase contracts.
• Support the development and maintenance of contract templates, policies, and legal processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Provide business‑oriented legal advice on contractual and related topics, helping stakeholders make informed decisions while managing legal risks.
• Collaborate on global and regional legal projects and initiatives.
• Act as a trusted legal partner to internal stakeholders across functions and regions.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with 3–5 years of experience in a law firm or in‑house legal function, focused on international commercial contracting.
• Experience working in international, matrix‑based environments, preferably supporting EMEA stakeholders.
• Solid background in drafting and reviewing commercial contracts; familiarity with international contracting frameworks is a plus.
• Knowledge of contracts governed by English law (England & Wales) is a strong advantage.
• Strong legal problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to apply core legal principles in a practical, business‑oriented manner.
• Self‑motivated, curious, and eager to develop within an international legal community.
• University degree in Law; additional background in international law or studies abroad is advantageous.
