Financial Controller – Associate

About the role

The Financial Controller – Associate joins the Corporate Sector Controllers team to ensure the integrity, transparency, and control of the firm’s financial results. You will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, supporting close and reporting processes while driving improvements through data and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Record accruals and prepaids in accordance with US GAAP and JPMorgan Chase standards, and lead regular accrual review meetings.
• Support fixed‑asset accounting, including asset set‑up, clearing WIP GL balances, and performing impairment reviews.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity through Fortress Balance Sheet support, stakeholder reviews, and GL reconciliation attestation following firm‑wide GLRS standards.
• Conduct month‑over‑month analytical reviews of actual results, documenting significant fluctuations and preparing flash reports.
• Partner with P&A, Business Management, and other stakeholders to verify contract accounting treatment and ensure compliance with control programs.
• Identify efficiency opportunities across P&L and balance‑sheet controls and resolve material variances between the general ledger and upstream systems.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal control frameworks.
• Experience with financial reporting, balance‑sheet reconciliation, and fixed‑asset accounting.
• Ability to analyze variances, communicate findings, and work cross‑functionally with business partners.
