Electrical Foreman

About the role

The Electrical Foreman will lead the installation, maintenance and safe operation of all electrical systems and equipment at a coal mining site. Reporting to mine management, the role ensures compliance with the Coal Mines Regulation 2017 while maintaining high standards of safety, reliability and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee installation of electrical systems, guaranteeing adherence to technical specifications and safety standards.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all electrical equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections, identify potential issues and execute corrective actions before failures occur.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimise downtime and sustain operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely resolution of electrical problems.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with the Coal Mines Regulation 2017 and other relevant safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities and repairs, and submit required regulatory reports.
• Lead, train and evaluate a team of electricians and technicians, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electrical work within mining or heavy‑industry environments.
• Strong knowledge of Indian mining electrical regulations, especially the Coal Mines Regulation 2017.
• Ability to supervise and mentor a team of electrical personnel.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
