Data Scientist – Compliance

About the role

eBay’s Compliance team is looking for a Data Scientist to help make the marketplace safer and more reliable. You will work closely with Compliance, Product, Engineering and Design to turn data into actionable insights that shape policy and improve the experience for millions of buyers and sellers.

Key responsibilities

• Drive strategic insights by applying analytics to influence long‑term compliance solutions.
• Analyze platform data to identify opportunities that improve buyer and seller experience.
• Define, monitor and report on key performance indicators related to compliance and marketplace safety.
• Lead cross‑functional projects with Product, Engineering and Design to embed data‑driven decisions.
• Develop scalable infrastructure and operational strategies for the Compliance organization.

Required profile

• Experience working as a Data Scientist or in advanced analytics within a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with ability to translate business questions into analytical approaches.
• Proven ability to communicate insights to senior stakeholders and drive action.
