Consultant – Indirect Tax (GST) – Hyderabad

About the role

The team is part of the USI Firms Tax function, responsible for entity‑level tax compliance for US‑India companies. You will work on Indian GST matters, supporting tax advisory, compliance and liaison with revenue authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist tax leadership with GST advisory, returns filing, refunds and tax payment coordination.
• Prepare technical submissions and responses to notices from GST/Customs authorities.
• Represent the firm before statutory authorities for hearings as required.
• Compile tax return filings and perform monthly, quarterly and yearly tax accrual calculations.
• Coordinate with auditors for statutory, tax and internal audits.
• Work with external tax advisors, consultants and contractors on compliance matters.
• Generate periodic MIS reports on tax compliance metrics.
• Liaise between Finance and the Tax team to manage tax payments and documentation.
• Guide junior team members on day‑to‑day tax compliance activities.

Required profile

• Professional qualification: CS, CMA, M.Com or LLB.
• 3–6 years of experience handling GST matters in a large MNC or Big 4 consulting firm.
• Strong communication and drafting abilities.

• In‑depth knowledge of Indian GST regulations.
• GST returns filing and refund processing.

• Experience with ERP systems.
