Construction Manager – Ballastless Track

About the role

We are seeking a Construction Manager to lead the installation of ballastless (slab) railway track. The role involves planning, executing, and monitoring track works in line with approved drawings, specifications and project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and monitor ballastless track installation works according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Implement work programmes and methodologies to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
• Coordinate with Project Manager, planning, procurement and engineering teams for seamless execution.
• Manage material logistics, manpower and equipment deployment based on monthly and weekly plans.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), Method Statements and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
• Monitor project progress, KPIs and prepare daily/weekly/monthly progress reports for stakeholders.
• Lead subcontractor activities, assign daily tasks and drive productivity improvements on site.
• Enforce HSE requirements, conduct safety briefings and address on‑site safety issues proactively.
• Coordinate with client, general contractor and inspection authorities for site instructions, inspections, approvals and handovers.
• Provide technical guidance for all ballastless track activities up to final track parameters.
• Identify and resolve design, execution and resource interface issues to avoid delays and rework.
• Facilitate smooth handover and takeover between contractors and project phases in line with contractual requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing ballastless (slab) track installation projects.
• Strong ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
• Solid understanding of construction quality assurance, method statements and inspection test plans.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills to address design and execution issues.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental standards on construction sites.
