Attorney – Legal Center of Excellence

About the role

IBM is seeking an Attorney to join its new Legal Center of Excellence in Bangalore. You will work within a dynamic legal team, providing guidance to IBM’s global lawyers and business units across a wide range of legal matters.

Key responsibilities

• Support early‑stage commercial engagements, including direct and indirect distribution, mergers and acquisitions, and related transactions.
• Advise procurement, real estate, human resources, finance and other functions on regulatory compliance, contractual disputes, litigation, intellectual property, workplace relations, privacy and cybersecurity.
• Collaborate with fellow lawyers and support staff to deliver consistent legal services across all IBM business units.

Required profile

• Qualified to practice law in India.
• 5–13 years of legal experience in‑house, at a law firm, or a combination of both.
• Proven ability to negotiate IT contracts with government and commercial entities covering services, software and cloud solutions.
• Experience handling privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property and regulatory compliance issues.
• Capacity to work independently with decreasing supervision and a strong commitment to integrity and ethical conduct.
