Android Developer

About the role

Barclays is seeking an Android Developer to join its digital transformation team in Pune. You will work on location‑strategy projects, building modern mobile experiences and supporting backend services that power payments and card platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
• Build and integrate backend services with Java Spring Boot, including micro‑services and RESTful APIs.
• Own features end‑to‑end across mobile and backend layers, ensuring quality, performance and security.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and other engineers to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, promote clean‑code practices and contribute to technical communities.

Required profile

• Strong overall IT and software development experience, particularly on Android.
• Hands‑on experience with Kotlin, Java and Android architecture patterns (MVVM/MVP).
• Experience building backend services with Java Spring Boot and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with payments, cards or transactional platforms is a plus.
