About the role
We are seeking a Taxation Manager to lead our tax compliance function for a life insurance business in Mumbai. The role involves overseeing both direct and indirect tax obligations, ensuring timely filings, and driving automation of tax processes.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and file periodic tax returns under Income Tax and GST, including Tax Audit, SFT, ITR, TDS returns, and GST returns (GSTR‑1, 3B, 9, 9C).
- Collaborate with internal teams to meet compliance deadlines and address audit queries.
- Implement and optimise automation tools to streamline tax workflows.
- Assist in gathering data and documentation for tax assessments and audits.
- Maintain accurate tax ledger balances and perform regular reconciliations.
Required profile
- 3‑4 years of experience in taxation, preferably within the life insurance or financial services sector.
- Strong knowledge of direct and indirect tax laws in India.
- Hands‑on experience with income‑tax and GST compliance processes.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally and manage audit requirements.
