Structural Design Engineer – Aerospace (Bangalore)

About the role

Capgemini Engineering is seeking an Aero Structural Design Engineer to join its Bangalore team. You will develop 3D and 2D definitions of aircraft structural components using CATIA V5, working within the Airbus environment and collaborating closely with onshore teams and the client.

Key responsibilities

• Produce design outputs (parts, pre‑assemblies, assemblies, drawing sets) that meet specifications and timelines.
• Perform detailing, assembly creation, and Bill of Materials (BOM) generation.
• Work on primary and secondary aircraft structures in both metallic and composite domains.
• Collaborate with onshore teams and the client to ensure high‑quality deliverables.
• Mentor junior team members and support their development.
• Participate in internal knowledge‑sharing and capability‑building initiatives.

Required profile

• 2‑6 years of experience in aerospace structural design, preferably on Airbus programs (SA, LR, A350).
• Strong knowledge of metallic and composite aircraft structures.
• Hands‑on experience designing primary structural components such as skins, frames, stringers, clips, etc.
• Excellent drawing interpretation skills and understanding of GD&T principles.
