Site Supervisor – Solar (PM‑KUSUM Project)

About the role

The Site Supervisor will lead daily construction and installation activities at ground‑mounted solar PV sites (approximately 7 MW each) under the PM‑KUSUM programme. You will ensure work is carried out safely, on schedule, and in line with approved drawings while coordinating manpower, materials and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise civil, mechanical and electrical works, ensuring compliance with drawings and project timelines.
• Oversee site clearing, leveling and foundation works for mounting structures.
• Manage erection of module mounting structures and installation of solar modules, ensuring correct alignment, tilt and secure fastening.
• Monitor DC and AC cable laying, inverter installation, earthing and lightning protection.
• Allocate daily tasks to labor and subcontractors, track productivity and resolve on‑site issues.
• Check material availability, coordinate with store/warehouse and ensure proper handling.
• Enforce safety practices, report unsafe conditions and support site safety guidelines.
• Prepare daily progress reports, highlight delays, risks and coordinate with engineering and project management teams.

Required profile

• Diploma / ITI / B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil engineering (preferred).
• 1–5 years of site supervision experience, preferably in solar or similar infrastructure projects.
• Experience handling projects of 5–10 MW or comparable scale.

Required skills

• Understanding of solar plant components (modules, mounting structures, inverters).
• Construction and installation processes for ground‑mounted PV systems.
• Ability to read basic drawings and layout plans.
• Civil works supervision.
• Electrical works supervision, including DC/AC cable laying.
