Shift Engineer – Rolling Mill Operations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Shift Engineer to lead the operations of our rolling mill in Satara. The role involves overseeing production, ensuring equipment reliability, and driving continuous improvement to meet customer and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Review departmental performance against the business plan on a monthly basis.
• Plan and execute cost‑effective activities, including manpower and equipment upgrades.
• Assess customer requirements, address complaints, and implement preventive actions.
• Control departmental costs within budgeted limits and maintain work discipline at all levels.
• Monitor external rolling processes and increase mill utilisation while reducing consumption.
• Ensure availability of spare parts and maintain mill spares inventory.
• Coordinate furnace repairs and resolve technical problems in the mills.
• Lead safety‑related tasks and housekeeping activities.

Required profile

• BE/B.Tech degree.
• 10–12 years of experience in rolling mill or similar industrial production environments.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, resources and departmental performance.
