Senior Pharmacy Consultant / Domain Specialist

About the role

EY is looking for a senior‑level Pharmacy Consultant / Pharmacy Domain Specialist to join its healthcare consulting practice. You will leverage deep pharmacy operations knowledge to support client engagements across payer and provider environments, helping shape medication management strategies and benefit designs.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze end‑to‑end pharmacy workflows, including retail, mail‑order, and specialty channels.
• Support formulary management, prior‑authorization, and utilization review processes.
• Apply expertise in Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) models, benefit design, and rebate structures.
• Evaluate medication utilization patterns, cost trends, and adherence metrics.
• Assist specialty drug management programs and medication‑safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, medical teams, operations, and technology stakeholders to align processes with clinical, financial, and regulatory requirements.
• Produce consulting deliverables such as workflow documentation, analysis, and actionable recommendations.

Required profile

• 4–8 years of experience in pharmacy operations, PBM, healthcare consulting, or related roles.
• Strong understanding of pharmacy workflows across payer and provider settings.
• Hands‑on knowledge of formulary management, utilization management, and prior‑authorization processes.
• Experience analyzing pharmacy utilization, cost, and performance data.
• Familiarity with pharmacy regulations, medication safety, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
