Senior Engineer II, Investment Technology

About the role

Invesco is seeking a Senior Engineer II to design, build and maintain data‑engineering workflows that power portfolio construction and analysis applications. The role blends data engineering, API development and emerging AI technologies to accelerate software delivery across a global investment platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable data‑engineering pipelines supporting portfolio construction and analysis.
• Develop, document and support Business APIs using Python frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI.
• Leverage generative AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) and LLM models to architect complex solutions and speed up delivery.
• Apply Agentic AI to automate business workflows and improve efficiency.
• Identify, ingest and enrich structured and unstructured big data for analytical use.
• Operate and extend the data research platform, ensuring production‑quality data delivery.
• Own end‑to‑end data workflows, CI/CD pipelines and platform security remediation.
• Maintain platform stability, resilience and performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of data engineering experience building reliable pipelines with Python, Docker and cloud services.
• At least 7 years developing REST APIs using Flask, FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with generative AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) and LLM integration.
• Strong database knowledge and test‑driven development practices.
• Experience implementing DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity and deliver under tight deadlines.
