Mechanical Support – Casting

About the role

The Mechanical Support – Casting role is responsible for ensuring the reliability and availability of equipment across the extrusion, post‑extrusion, die shop and powder‑coating areas. The incumbent will lead maintenance activities, manage critical spares and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform regular rounds to detect equipment abnormalities and apply troubleshooting methods to minimise downtime.
• Coordinate preventive, corrective and shutdown maintenance to achieve 100 % equipment availability.
• Implement and monitor a Maintenance Management System based on Reliability Centered Maintenance.
• Manage critical spare parts inventory, ensuring >95 % availability and timely procurement.
• Plan and procure tools and equipment required for fast execution of jobs.
• Provide training to staff on proper equipment use and maintenance procedures.
• Collaborate with production, engineering and other departments to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities, control maintenance expenses and oversee outsourcing when needed.
• Lead Kaizen, OPL and other improvement projects to eliminate repetitive breakdowns.
• Ensure compliance with SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) standards and internal audit requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a casting or metal‑working environment.
• Strong knowledge of reliability‑centered maintenance and preventive maintenance strategies.
• Ability to analyse breakdown data, plan corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent coordination skills to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Commitment to safety, cost control and quality standards.
