Housekeeping Utility – Shipboard Cleaning & Cabin Service

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Housekeeping Utility to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene aboard our vessel. The role involves thorough cleaning of public areas, crew and officer cabins, and supporting the Rooms Division team to ensure guest and crew satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all assigned public and crew areas, including vacuuming, dusting, polishing, high‑dusting, garbage removal and sanitising.
• Perform floor care tasks such as shampooing, stripping, waxing and general floor maintenance.
• Provide daily cleaning of officer cabins and bathrooms to the highest possible level.
• Handle laundry and valet services for officer cabins in the assigned section.
• Deliver turn‑down service and manage towel delivery and collection at the gangway.
• Carry out scheduled sanitation, record activities in the sanitation log and follow public‑health procedures.
• Assist with requisition collection, distribution and ensure deliveries match requisitions.
• Participate in wheelchair assistance, plant watering, embarkation/disembarkation duties and luggage handling as required.
• Maintain proper storage and handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment, report any faults and monitor repairs.
• Attend daily briefings, communicate effectively with the Rooms Division and other ship departments, and adhere to outbreak response regulations.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other housekeeping utilities and ship personnel.
• Discretion and courtesy when entering cabins, respecting crew and officer privacy.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and handle luggage.
• Good communication skills for daily briefings and inter‑departmental coordination.
