Customer Service – Trade Transactions (Apprenticeship)

About the role

This apprenticeship offers a hands‑on opportunity to support premium and standard trade clients within HSBC Global Trade Solutions. You will own end‑to‑end trade transactions, ensure smooth processing, and deliver high‑quality customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage trade transactions for premium/standard clients from initiation to completion.
• Secure all required documents and internal approvals to prevent transaction breakdowns.
• Address customer complaints, resolve queries via the e‑helpline, and provide proactive callbacks for payment instructions and discrepancies.
• Prepare onboarding forms and documentation, answer inbound calls/emails, and follow up on payment and export‑related matters.
• Liaise with MO, Sales, Product teams and overseas offices to coordinate transaction activities.
• Contribute to process and guideline roll‑outs, share knowledge in team meetings, and act as a trusted advisor during client visits.
• Monitor export dispatches, ensure timely document delivery, and report discrepancies promptly.

Required profile

• Graduate or post‑graduate qualification.
• Strong interest in trade finance and customer service.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Required skills

• Familiarity with AI‑enabled tools (advantageous).
