About the role
We are looking for a motivated Commis to join our kitchen team at Marriott Suites Pune. The role focuses on preparing Italian and bakery items, supporting chefs, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring and mixing.
- Cook and assemble dishes according to recipes, presentation standards and food preparation checklists.
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely and efficiently.
- Monitor food quality, test doneness and ensure correct temperatures of appliances and food.
- Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions and maintain a clean, disinfected kitchen environment.
- Follow all company safety, security and hygiene policies; report any hazards or incidents.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar kitchen or bakery role.
- Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb without assistance.
- Willingness to work in a fast‑paced environment and follow detailed instructions.
Required skills
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, microwaves and fryers.
- Basic food preparation techniques for Italian cuisine and bakery items.
