Software Engineer III, Backend, Pixel

About the role

Google is seeking a Software Engineer III to join the Pixel backend team. You will help build and evolve the MyPixel App, a core platform that delivers personalized, device‑aware experiences to millions of users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Write high‑quality product or system development code for backend services.
• Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to evaluate technology options.
• Review code contributions from other engineers, ensuring adherence to style guidelines, testability, and efficiency.
• Maintain and improve documentation and educational content, adapting it to product updates and user feedback.
• Triage, debug, and resolve product or system issues, analyzing impacts on hardware, network, or service operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of software programming experience in C++, Java, Python, or Go.
• Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
