Site Reliability Engineer II – Monitoring & Automation

About the role

Mastercard’s Enterprise Monitoring team is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer II to advance its Application Performance Monitoring and Digital Experience Monitoring strategy. The role blends strategic project work with real‑time operational support, ideal for candidates who are passionate about reliability, automation, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day usage and configuration support for monitoring tools used by internal customers.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for monitoring solutions.
• Collaborate closely with technical leads and engineering peers to resolve issues and implement enhancements.
• Engage with internal stakeholders to understand monitoring needs and translate them into actionable solutions.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation to deliver off‑hours emergency support.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with one or more application performance management tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or Datadog.
• Strong familiarity with Linux environments and basic automation scripting (Python, Perl, or Bash).
• Understanding of distributed application concepts and synthetic end‑user monitoring.
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to balance new build work with operational maintenance.
