Senior Engineer – Optical & Identification Process

About the role

Bosch Automotive Electronics India (RBAI) is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead optical and identification processes in its Bengaluru manufacturing plant. The role focuses on ensuring high‑quality production, driving process improvements, and supporting new product introductions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain vision applications using Halcon and neuro‑check technologies.
• Program and configure label printing using ZPL, and set up printers and scanners.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with legal, safety, customer, and Bosch standards.
• Prepare, validate, and document production readiness for NPI and ECR projects.
• Provide 2nd‑level troubleshooting for machine downtime and devise concepts to maximize uptime.
• Drive defect avoidance, reduction, and continuous productivity improvements (e.g., cycle‑time reduction, tool life extension).
• Collaborate closely with production, development, and quality teams across the network.
• Apply statistical methods such as SPC to optimize quality and utilization.
• Support process and customer audits, and assist in production meetings addressing yield, quality, and delivery issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience with Halcon and neuro‑check vision systems.
• Hands‑on knowledge of ZPL label programming and printer/scanner configurations.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing compliance, NPI/ECR documentation, and machine downtime analysis.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with production, development, and quality teams.
• Experience applying statistical process control and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
