Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join its Data Engineering team in India. The role supports Data Analysts and Data Scientists by building and maintaining robust data pipelines, databases, and ETL processes for large‑scale analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain database technologies, environments, and applications.
• Write optimized PL/SQL procedures and Java/Spring Boot services for data processing.
• Develop and manage ETL pipelines, ensuring efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Lead database security initiatives, identifying risks and implementing mitigation plans.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to fulfill ad‑hoc data investigations and reporting needs.
• Support production code, improve data modeling, quality, and architecture.
• Utilize DevOps tools such as Jenkins, CloudBees, and Sonar for continuous integration and deployment.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with Oracle PL/SQL and writing optimized SQL queries.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for building services.
• Strong background in data warehousing concepts and large‑scale ETL processes.
• Hands‑on experience with DevOps practices and related tooling.
