Senior Backend Engineer – Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)

About the role

Invesco is seeking a seasoned backend specialist to lead the design, development and maintenance of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) solutions. The role focuses on building high‑quality digital experiences through robust Java development and seamless system integration.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain AEM templates, components, services and workflows.
• Collaborate with front‑end teams to integrate UI components within the AEM platform.
• Define and govern content structures, taxonomies and metadata schemas.
• Write clean, scalable Java code and apply best practices, profiling and performance tuning.
• Integrate AEM with enterprise systems, databases and third‑party services using APIs and web services.
• Champion clean coding principles, conduct code reviews and ensure high‑quality delivery.
• Track AEM patch releases, apply updates and maintain security and performance compliance.
• Monitor and optimise AEM backend performance and work with infrastructure teams on scalable architectures.

Required profile

• 6+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years hands‑on AEM expertise.
• Strong Java backend development background, preferably with Spring Framework.
• Proven experience designing, implementing and maintaining AEM solutions end‑to‑end.
• Deep knowledge of OSGi, JCR standards and AEM search integrations such as Solr.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful services and integrating enterprise systems.
