Seasonal ESY Significant Needs Education Assistant

About the role

This seasonal position supports the Extended School Year (ESY) program for students with significant needs during the 2026/27 summer term. Working up to four hours each weekday, you will assist licensed teachers and specialists in delivering intensive, individualized instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individual students or small groups requiring high‑level accommodations.
• Assist in implementing Individual Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and service providers to plan and deliver instructional activities.
• Participate in mandatory meetings, trainings, and documentation processes.

Required profile

• Highly Qualified status as defined by Oregon law (ORS 581‑037‑0006).
• Evidence of at least two years of post‑secondary study (72 credit hours) or an associate degree or higher.
• Relevant experience with ESY, early learning, behavior support, or summer school settings.
• Ability to work Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑12 pm, on‑site at the Education Center.

Required skills

• Knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics instruction for students with significant needs.
• Familiarity with IEP development and implementation.
