Pharmacy Consultant / Domain Specialist (Senior)

About the role

EY is looking for a senior Pharmacy Consultant / Pharmacy Domain Specialist to join its healthcare consulting practice. The role combines deep pharmacy operations expertise with strong analytical and stakeholder‑management abilities to help clients optimise medication management, benefit design and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse end‑to‑end pharmacy workflows across retail, mail‑order and specialty settings.
• Support formulary management, prior‑authorization and utilization‑review processes.
• Apply knowledge of Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) models, benefit design and rebate structures.
• Evaluate medication utilisation patterns, cost trends and adherence metrics.
• Assist specialty drug management programmes and medication‑safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, medical teams, operations and technology stakeholders to align processes with clinical, financial and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to consulting deliverables such as workflow documentation, analysis and recommendations.

Required profile

• 4–8 years of experience in pharmacy operations, PBM, healthcare consulting or related roles.
• Strong understanding of pharmacy workflows in both payer and provider environments.
• Hands‑on experience with formulary management, utilisation management and prior‑authorization processes.
• Proven ability to analyse pharmacy utilisation, cost and performance data.
• Knowledge of pharmacy regulations, medication safety and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder‑management skills.
