Lead Software Engineer (Release Management, CI/CD)

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive release management and CI/CD initiatives across its digital payments platform. You will lead a team of engineers, shape technical strategy, and ensure delivery of high‑quality software solutions that meet service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead major projects and complex assignments, delivering innovative, cost‑effective solutions with fast time‑to‑market.
• Oversee day‑to‑day system development and maintenance to meet SLA commitments.
• Collaborate with business and technical partners to define scope, ROI, risks, and constraints.
• Develop strategic technical plans, create architecture proposals, and produce solution definitions.
• Research emerging technologies, conduct proof‑of‑concepts, and maintain technology roadmaps.
• Partner with Project Managers to estimate costs, define technical scope, and manage project lifecycle.
• Define quality methodology, metrics, and lead QA/QC processes for the department.
• Assist in vendor selection, RFI/RFP processes, and technology procurement.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale software engineering projects.
• Strong subject‑matter expertise in release management and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to senior management and stakeholders.
• Experience developing business cases, scenario planning, and presenting strategic recommendations.
• Track record of researching and adopting new technologies.
