Interior Designer – Residential & Commercial Projects

About the role

studioCtara is seeking a full‑time Interior Designer to join its Mapusa studio. You will lead residential and commercial projects from concept through completion, creating modern, minimalist and boho‑inspired spaces that reflect the studio’s aesthetic.

Key responsibilities

• Develop design concepts, mood boards and material palettes for homes, offices, boutiques, cafés and retail environments.
• Produce space‑planning layouts, detailed 2D drawings and 3D visualisations.
• Select, source and specify FF&E items, coordinating with vendors, artisans and contractors.
• Conduct site visits, monitor progress, ensure design quality and adherence to timelines.
• Collaborate with the boutique team to style spaces and source unique décor pieces.
• Communicate design proposals to clients, gather feedback and adjust solutions accordingly.

Required profile

• Formal qualification in Interior Design, Architecture or a related field.
• Strong foundation in translating client requirements into functional, cohesive designs.
• Excellent attention to detail, time‑management and on‑site problem‑solving abilities.
• Prior experience in residential and commercial interiors is an advantage.

Required skills

• Space planning for residential, commercial and retail environments.
• Creation of construction drawings and 2D documentation for contractors.
• FF&E selection, sourcing and specification.
• Proficiency with 3D visualisation tools and presentation software.
