Assistant Professor of Economics

About the role

The university is seeking an Assistant Professor of Economics to join its faculty. The role involves teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, conducting high‑quality research, and contributing to the academic community.

Key responsibilities

• Teach economics courses at UG and PG levels, delivering lectures, tutorials, seminars and workshops.
• Prepare lesson plans, study materials, presentations and assessment tools.
• Evaluate assignments, projects, presentations and examinations, and maintain academic records.
• Conduct research, publish in reputable journals, and present at conferences and workshops.
• Apply for research grants, consultancy projects and collaborative initiatives.
• Mentor students on academic and career development, research projects, internships and competitions.
• Support accreditation, ranking, admission processes and departmental coordination.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Economics with minimum 55% marks from a recognized university.
• NET/SET/Ph.D. qualification preferred as per UGC norms.
• Strong academic background and research orientation.
• Freshers with a solid academic record may apply; prior teaching or research experience is an advantage.

Required skills

• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Deep knowledge of Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics, International Economics and Public Economics.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, statistical tools and online teaching platforms.
• Ability to engage and motivate students effectively.
