Assistant Manager – Cloud & Security Network Operations & Support

About the role

Tata Communications is looking for an Assistant Manager to join its Cloud & Security Network Operations team. The role focuses on managing, troubleshooting, and supporting security infrastructure across a global environment, with a strong emphasis on Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, and Zscaler solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and maintain firewall policies, VPNs, and security rules in Checkpoint and Cisco ASA platforms.
• Provide tier‑2/3 support for security incidents, escalated tickets, and critical infrastructure issues.
• Perform root‑cause analysis of security events and recommend corrective actions.
• Participate in the design and implementation of new security architectures and network segmentation projects.
• Conduct regular health checks, firmware upgrades, and performance tuning of security devices.
• Collaborate with SOC, NOC, IT, and application teams to enforce security policies.
• Maintain documentation such as network diagrams, SOPs, and technical runbooks.
• Support audit, compliance assessments, and remediation of penetration‑testing findings.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in network and security engineering, preferably in large‑scale enterprise environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with the capacity to work under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Team‑oriented mindset and willingness to work flexible 24×7 shifts.

Required skills

• Checkpoint (MDS, SmartConsole, SmartDashboard, policy management, VPN, threat prevention, HA clustering).
• Cisco ASA (firewall policies, NAT, ACLs, IPSec/SSL VPN).
• Zscaler (ZIA, ZPA, policy configuration, Client Connector, IdP integration).
• Fortinet firewall basics.
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, and layer 2/3/7 firewall concepts.
• Experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk or QRadar.
• Scripting/automation knowledge (Python, Ansible) – a plus.
