Security Officer – Materials & Personnel Management

About the role

The Security Officer will oversee the safe and secure movement of materials, consumables and personnel at Amelia Coal Mine. This role ensures that all inbound and outbound logistics are performed in accordance with established security procedures and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, monitor and regulate the movement of raw materials, consumables and finished products through a documented security system.
• Study the existing security processes, recommend and implement improvements to protect materials in transit.
• Control and record the movement of employees, contractors, visitors and labourers within the mine, workshop areas and township.
• Maintain accurate security documentation for all material and personnel movements.
• Organise and conduct effective training for guards and supervisors, including regular security drills and fire‑fighting exercises.

Required profile

• Proven experience in security operations, preferably in an industrial or mining environment.
• Strong understanding of material handling and personnel movement controls.
• Ability to develop, enforce and continuously improve security procedures.
• Excellent documentation and record‑keeping skills.
• Capability to train and lead security personnel.
