Remote Chemical Researcher – Short‑Term Contract

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified Chemistry Expert to work remotely on a short‑term (11‑week) contract. The role involves solving advanced chemistry problems, creating detailed explanations, and supporting AI model fine‑tuning through structured analytical work.

Key responsibilities

• Solve postgraduate‑level chemistry questions across organic, inorganic, thermodynamics, electrochemistry and stoichiometry.
• Develop clear, visual, and diagrammatic explanations for reaction mechanisms, equilibrium processes and energy profiles.
• Provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations on chemistry‑related tasks.
• Contribute analytical reasoning to AI model fine‑tuning projects.
• Collaborate remotely, ensuring at least 4 hours of overlap with Pacific Standard Time.

Required profile

• Master’s degree, Ph.D., or current Ph.D./post‑doctoral research in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry or a related discipline.
• Strong research and analytical abilities with a logical, structured problem‑solving approach.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote setting.
• Reliable internet connection and a desktop or laptop computer.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least three of the following tools: GROMACS, LAMMPS, Psi4, PySCF, xtb, crest, Multiwfn, Cantera, CoolProp, NWChem, PyBaMM, RDKit, Open Babel.
