Quality Specialist

About the role

The Quality Specialist will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of Quality Assurance (QA) programs that meet nuclear regulations and industry standards. You will work closely with engineering, operations, and project teams to ensure that quality expectations are consistently achieved.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain QA programs in line with NRC, DOE, ASME NQA‑1 and other relevant standards.
• Conduct internal audits, inspections, and assessments to verify compliance with procedures, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Review quality documentation such as inspection records, test reports, and supplier qualifications.
• Identify root causes of non‑conformances and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Monitor supplier performance and assist with vendor audits when required.
• Maintain accurate QA records and ensure proper document‑control processes.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance quality, safety, and operational performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Nuclear Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in quality assurance or quality control within the nuclear industry or other regulated technical environments.
• Knowledge of nuclear quality standards such as NQA‑1, ISO 9001, DOE O 414.1.
• Strong understanding of inspection methods, QA documentation, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience with audits, NCR/CAPA processes, and supplier quality management.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem‑solving abilities.
