Purchasing Manager

About the role

The Purchasing Manager will lead strategic sourcing and procurement activities for technical goods and services across ongoing projects. The role ensures cost‑effective purchasing, high quality, and risk mitigation while supporting project delivery timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement policies, procedures and strategies for cost optimisation and quality assurance.
• Oversee purchasing of technical goods, services and consumables for all contracts.
• Forecast procurement needs for spare parts and consumables.
• Identify, evaluate and negotiate with new and existing vendors, preparing comparative analyses to select the best offers.
• Monitor supplier performance, compliance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Prepare and circulate purchase orders for direct materials and consumables.
• Track delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of materials and equipment.
• Maintain procurement MIS for strategic planning and coordinate vendor reconciliations and payments.

Required profile

• Formal qualification in supply chain, procurement or a related diploma (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in business or supplier management, preferably in engineering or RMPU service contracts.
• Proven experience in purchase order management.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
