Financial Controlling Manager

About the role

Diageo is seeking a Financial Controlling Manager to lead the financial control function for its in‑market entities. The role ensures accurate and fair representation of financial performance, drives the month‑end close process, and partners with business teams to support transformation and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for in‑market finance teams on all financial control matters.
• Drive the financial control agenda, ensuring compliance with internal policies and SOX requirements.
• Oversee the timely and high‑quality review and submission of monthly financial statements for group reporting.
• Lead statutory reporting and coordinate external and internal audit activities.
• Identify, lead and implement process‑improvement projects and manage ad‑hoc technical accounting initiatives.
• Make day‑to‑day decisions on month‑end accruals, provisions and other accounting judgments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial controlling, month‑end close and statutory reporting.
• Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks and SOX compliance.
• Ability to partner with business units and influence transformation initiatives.
• Excellent analytical and decision‑making skills in a fast‑moving, global environment.

Required skills

• Financial systems proficiency (e.g., ERP accounting modules).
• Understanding of technical accounting standards.
