Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Buyer will support the procurement function by ensuring that technical specifications from users match vendor offerings, conducting initial negotiations, and processing orders through SAP. This role is essential for maintaining smooth supply of items required for plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Float enquiries for assigned items based on user requirements.
• Validate technical requirements against vendor specifications and flag any gaps to senior buyers.
• Conduct first‑round negotiations with vendors and provide detailed summaries to the Buying Manager.
• Place finalized orders and record transactions accurately in the SAP system.
• Respond promptly to internal and external audit queries related to procurement, escalating when necessary.

Required profile

• B.Tech or B.E. degree.
• 2–6 years of experience in category‑based sourcing, manufacturing, or supply management within a plant environment.
• Proven exposure to the specific category of items being procured.
