Synchrolift Mechanic, Rigger & Diver – US Navy Support

About the role

Amentum is seeking a qualified Synchrolift Mechanic, Rigger and Diver to support a unique US Navy program on Diego Garcia. The role involves conducting underwater surveys, recoveries, and maintaining dive‑locker equipment while operating in remote offshore conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing underwater survey and recovery missions.
• Operate and tend hyper‑baric chambers for medical treatments.
• Perform scheduled, unscheduled and emergency maintenance on dive‑locker equipment.
• Operate vessels assigned to the Dive Locker and conduct work in confined spaces.
• Repair and maintain local buoys, moorings and related water‑vessel components.
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment and adhere to safety protocols.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years of commercial diving experience (preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of a U.S. certified commercial or military diving school.
• Ability to pass a diving physical in accordance with OSHA Commercial Diving Regulations or U.S. Coast Guard Regulations.
• Valid driver’s license with a suitable driving record.
• Willingness to work extended offshore periods in remote, potentially uncomfortable conditions.
