Mechanical Service Engineer – AWS Data Centers

About the role

As a Mechanical Service Engineer you will be the primary technical resource for mechanical and HVAC systems within AWS data centers in India. You will ensure continuous operation of critical infrastructure through hands‑on maintenance, preventive programs, and rapid incident response.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end operations and maintenance of data‑center mechanical assets, including change management, incident handling, root‑cause analysis and post‑mortems.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance, repairs, and emergency interventions for site‑critical mechanical and HVAC equipment.
• Manage asset and inventory records, ensuring accuracy and availability of spare parts.
• Develop and maintain method statements, SOPs, emergency response procedures, and technical documentation, promoting standardisation and automation.
• Communicate technical information and operating philosophies to Amazon personnel and vendor facilities teams.
• Provide on‑site facility support during critical events and coordinate vendor activities for incident resolution.
• Participate in 24 × 7 on‑call rotation and work rotational shifts as required.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with mechanical and HVAC systems maintenance in a data‑center or similar high‑availability environment.
• Proven ability to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment failures, and respond to emergencies.
• Strong technical writing skills for creating SOPs, method statements and incident reports.
• Experience managing assets, inventory and coordinating with external vendors.
• Willingness to work on‑call and rotate shifts to support 24 × 7 operations.
