About the role
We are seeking an experienced Banking Sector Audit Manager to join a top‑10 global audit firm in Manama. The role focuses on leading internal audit engagements for banking clients, ensuring robust risk assessment and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end internal audit engagements for banking clients, from planning through reporting.
- Develop risk‑based audit plans tailored to each client’s business environment and risk profile.
- Perform complex audit procedures, including credit risk, liquidity risk, asset‑liability management, stress testing, capital adequacy, ICAAP, recovery and resolution planning, and ECL model validation.
- Provide strategic advice on internal controls, risk management, process improvements, and regulatory compliance.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders, and drive consensus on remediation plans.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes, sharing insights with clients and the audit team.
- Contribute to the enhancement of audit methodologies, tools, and templates.
- Uphold professional ethics, confidentiality, and integrity in all engagements.
- Manage and mentor a team of auditors.
Required profile
- CA, ACCA, CPA or CIA qualification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of post‑qualification experience in internal auditing or risk management within the banking sector, preferably with a Big 4 or global audit firm.
- Proven experience leading audit engagements and managing audit teams.
