Assistant Research Scientist I

About the role

The Assistant Research Scientist I will support physicochemical sample analysis within our Crop Protection R&D team. The role focuses on operating and maintaining LCMS, UPLC and HPLC instruments to deliver accurate, on‑time analytical results for discovery projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform LCMS analysis using Waters and Shimadzu platforms and troubleshoot instrument issues.
• Operate UPLC and HPLC systems for chromatographic separations.
• Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for analytical methods.
• Report near‑miss incidents and unsafe behaviours, ensuring compliance with lab safety protocols.
• Conduct weekly checks of safety showers and eye‑wash stations.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with LCMS (Waters & Shimadzu), UPLC and HPLC.
• Ability to maintain and troubleshoot analytical instruments.
• Strong awareness of chemical safety and EHS practices.
• Proficiency in preparing and updating laboratory SOPs.
