Transmission Line Lead

About the role

The Transmission Line Lead will head end‑to‑end delivery of high‑voltage transmission projects, ensuring that surveys, design, construction, testing and commissioning are completed on schedule and to quality standards. This senior position reports to senior project management and works closely with engineering, procurement, HSE and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and execute transmission line projects, covering route alignment, tower foundation, erection, stringing, testing and commissioning.
• Oversee daily site activities, monitor tower erection, conductor stringing, earthing, insulator installation and ensure work follows approved drawings, BOQ and specifications.
• Coordinate with internal teams (Projects, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, HSE) and external parties (contractors, vendors, consultants, utilities, government authorities) to secure approvals, inspections and statutory clearances.
• Maintain compliance with technical standards, quality procedures and electrical safety norms; conduct inspections and verify testing before hand‑over.
• Implement HSE standards, monitor high‑risk tasks such as work at height and lifting operations, and ensure proper documentation and reporting of progress, risks and mitigation plans.

Required profile

• B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• 8‑15+ years of experience in transmission line, substation or power evacuation projects.
• Experience in renewable energy, solar or IPP transmission projects is preferred.
