Trainee Decontamination Technician (Band 2/3)

About the role

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our Central Sterile Processing Department as Trainee Decontamination Technicians. This entry‑level position provides a structured training programme that equips you with the knowledge and skills needed to support safe patient care across the hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Complete the full decontamination cycle for reusable medical devices, including receipt, cleaning, disinfecting, inspection, packing, sterilisation and dispatch.
• Collect, decontaminate and transport flexible endoscopes in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Work in compliance with ISO 13485:2016 standards and the hospital’s quality management system.
• Participate in shift rotation and weekend work to ensure continuous service delivery.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic and willing to learn in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
• Ability to follow strict hygiene and safety protocols.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends.
• Desirable: prior experience in sterile services or decontamination, though full training is provided.
