Testing Engineer – Engine/EV Motor

About the role

Bosch Group is seeking a Testing Engineer to support engine and electric‑motor validation activities at its Bengaluru development centre. You will work with state‑of‑the‑art dynamometer equipment and contribute to the design, execution, and analysis of test programmes for automotive powertrains.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and maintain dynamometer test rigs for engine and EV motor testing.
• Develop and execute test plans, including measurement of performance, emissions and durability.
• Automate test procedures and manage test data acquisition and processing.
• Interpret engineering drawings, design jigs and fixtures, and fabricate test hardware using lathe, CNC and drilling equipment.
• Analyse test results, perform failure investigations and provide corrective recommendations.

Required profile

• Diploma or Engineering degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Automobile Engineering.
• 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in engine or electric‑motor testing.
• Strong problem‑solving ability, attention to detail and good communication skills.
• Team‑oriented mindset with willingness to learn and adapt.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with dynamometer systems and related measuring devices.
• Knowledge of engine, electric‑motor and instrumentation principles.
• Test automation and test data analysis.
• Interpretation of engineering drawings and preparation of technical drawings.
• Design and fabrication of jigs and fixtures.
• Proficiency with conventional machine tools (lathe, CNC, drilling).
• Geometric measurement techniques and troubleshooting of test equipment.
