System Engineering Project Manager – Metro Rolling stock

About the role

Siemens Mobility is seeking a System Engineering Project Manager to lead the development of metro rolling‑stock solutions in India. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering engineering activities for R&D projects and new product bids, ensuring they meet quality, time and cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct and coordinate the development of new R&D products, designs and processes within allocated time and budget.
• Manage all engineering tasks assigned to the rolling‑stock R&D project, including resource allocation and cost control.
• Prepare and maintain platform documentation for gate reviews and ensure compliance with platform requirement specifications.
• Lead Design‑to‑Cost activities, integrate the Indian supply chain and align engineering work with the Technical Bid Manager.
• Act as the liaison between the rolling‑stock business unit and the Engineering Centre India.
• Drive engineering deliverables, monitor KPIs, and present project health in global and local management meetings.
• Establish internal workflows, tools and processes, and keep all project documentation up‑to‑date.

Required profile

• 10–12 years of experience in rolling‑stock product development or a related engineering field.
• Graduate or postgraduate degree in engineering.
• Proven track record of leading cross‑functional projects in a complex environment.
• PMP or PMI certification is a strong advantage.
